"Rebellious or Bitter Water"

Day 19
Miriam was the big sister of Moses. When Moses was born during the time of the King’s decree to kill all Hebrew males that were born, his sister Miriam assisted their mother to save Moses by putting him in a basket and placing the basket in the Nile River. She watched over Moses as he drifted along the river. When Moses was found by the daughter of Pharaoh in the river she kept Moses and raised him as her own son. Miriam was wise and she was able to convince the Egyptian princess to find a Hebrew woman to nurse Moses, so his own birth mother was called upon to nurse him when he was a baby. Miriam loved praising God. She sang songs to Moses when he was floating along in the Nile River and she loved to play her tambourine. When Moses fled from Egypt Miriam helped him and God’s people who were in the wilderness during that time. Miriam also became angry and said something offensive about Moses’ new wife and God struck her with a skin condition covering her in boils and sores until Moses prayed for her and after 7 days she was cleansed of the skin condition. Miriam is one of the first of the very important prophetic woman in the Bible.
Biblical Reference(s): Exodus 2:1-10, 15:20-21; Micah 6:4; Deuteronomy 24:8-9;
